RE: Heartland unhappy camper

I have talked to Jim about getting a few things fixed and it was done.I'm a long way from a dealer but he authorized the repairs to be fixed where we are.Jim and heartland has been very good to us.

RE: Economic Stimulius Check

I called about ours today since we were supposed to get it already. The rocording said it will arrive July 4th but if we dont get it then don't call before August. The way i figure it we will probably get it in time to pay our next year taxes!.

RE: Nevada out of state delivery tax

While this is still fresh on my mind why not call the dealer and tell him he owes a lot of taxes plus interest unless he knows a way out.

RE: Nevada out of state delivery tax

We are not lawyers and in doing what we did, we had NO idea there was a tax in NV or we would have taken care of it. We did not pay CA tax even though the dealer registered it and licensed it in CA as we assumed that was the way it was done as we were told about the staying out of CA for 90 days and we were planning to be in NV for other events as well as traveling to WA, OR, etc. You might of been told you could avoid paying California tax by going to Nevada and i bet you knew ,my feeling, that you owed tax to Nevada.I also think there is more to this story but we probably won't know the rest.On all new and in some states, used vehicles ect's have to pay a tax.You won for a little while but eventually most people get caught. When my wife first started working and on the income tax form it said something like "earned income and are you head of household".Since she wasn't head of household she didn't think she owed taxes.Three or four years later she found out,the hard way,as it wasn't the taxes but the interest plus taxes owed. She wrote them a check and we both learned a valuable lesson.

RE: Power Awning Hits Door

Show this to a Small-Claims Court judge and you have won your case! It's a shame that only the threat of legal action is sometimes the only thing that will correct someone elses faults. While your doing that get a letter from reese saying the hitch is too small and is a hazard not only to you but all other traffic on the hiways. It doesn't matter what kind of deal they worked out with you,it's their responsibility to put the correct hitch to pull the coach. That is unless you specified that hitch then i think you are on your own.

RE: biodiesel and wvo conversion

I have a friend that recycles used motor oil.He filters it and runs it in his dodge with a ratio of 80% diesel,20% used oil and hasnt had any problems using it at that mixture. If you have a 6.7 dodge i wouldnt use any home brew.

RE: Awning Tie Down

The cheapest and probably the strongest i have seen is rebar driven in the ground.Rebar is cheap and it takes up very little room and you can have it bent over to form a eyelet for a rope or strap.I have also seen round concrete with steel in it that sits on the ground. If i decide to tie mine down then the rebar will work for me,maybe even paint them. :)

RE: Attaching bubble levels question?

...enough adult beverage, and it won't matter how level it is!! Now that is the best answere i have heard in a long time. :) On those little stick-on levels i have found that over time one side will slip down a little bit.Best thing i found was get it as level as possible then screw the levels in place. It works for us.

RE: Short Bed vs Long Bed

Many wrongs and missinformation in this post. First, Dodge doesn't make a LB Mega cab. Although there are a few aftermarket companies that will extend the frame and add a LB to the Mega cab.(Wish I had one of those!) I can handle the parking, and sticking out past the spot at Wally World. It's funny and you will never loose your truck. :) Mav Your right,a few aftermarket companies do convert the mega cab into a longbed.I don't think i said dodge makes one but i do know of one campany that dodge approves the conversion.I have talked to him several times but like i said,i was waiting until the bugs were worked out on the engine. The mega cab with longbed is 22" longer than my current quad cab longbed. Congrats go to you and here is your prize. http://static.squidoo.com/resize/squidoo_images/-1/draft_lens1769859module7069779photo_shootingstar.jpg

RE: Short Bed vs Long Bed

The mega cab with the long bed could work for me as it rides a lot better. They don't make a mega cab with a long bed. Well Donnie,to your surprise i have seen them and i was going to get one but about the same time the 6.7 engine came about.I don't like new engines until they are proven so i put the mega cab off for awhile.

PropaneTank Warning

I just got this in my email from a friend and thought i would pass it along. Propane Tank Warning For those of you who like to grill it up during the summer, here's a safety announcement you need keep on your front burner. Please share this information with your coworkers, family, and friends.Even if you do not use and exchange a propane tank, send this out for those that do. This is something you definitely need to be aware of.Meth cooks are getting the propane tanks from the exchanges at Wal-Mart,Kroger, etc. and emptying them of the propane. Then, they are filling them with anhydrous ammonia. After they are finished using the tanks, they return them to the store. The tanks are then refilled with propane and sent back for you and me to buy. Anhydrous ammonia is very corrosive and weakens the structure of the tank.It can be very dangerous when mixed with propane and hooked up to our grills, etc.You should inspect the propane tank for any blue or greenish residue around the valve areas. If it is present, refuse to purchase that one. Here's the NPGA Site for your review also. They have pictures. www.npga.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=529

RE: Short Bed vs Long Bed

The mega cab with the long bed could work for me as it rides a lot better.Sure the turning radius is a little bigger and when parking it does stick out a little farther.Planning your parking doesn't take rocket science and you might have to walk a little farther but, exercise is good for you. :)

RE: COmpartment door locks

Only time my compartment doors are locked is when I'm towing and that is to make sure they don't open accidently. At the campground or at home, all doors are unlocked. +1
